Hello! I’m Greer, a trained designer and drapery fabricator.

I established Woollcott Soft Furnishings Studio in 2022 and ever since I have found absolute joy in the transformative power of beautiful interiors and how the use of fabrics truly takes an interior space to a level of sensory fulfilment. In this craft I have found a way to marry my love of interiors and design to the joy of hands-on fabrication and the power of improvement it provides. It’s a wonderful symbiosis for me as I love to help clients enhance their everyday lives by living amongst beautiful hand crafted interiors. Providing a space with peace, coziness and style to make their everyday environment more of a personal sanctuary.

My studies began in fine art and art history and then transitioned to design with a degree in Environmental Design (BDes.) from OCAD University in Toronto.

While working in the interior design field there was always something missing and it never felt like where I fit in or belonged. During this time I was gifted an old sewing machine and I was reunited with the craft I had always connected to growing up through the teachings of my mother and grandmother. I realised in this time that I needed to work with my hands and that was the missing piece for me.

My passion for fabrics, sewing and the decorative arts inspired me to travel to England to learn the traditional techniques of curtain making. I was adamant to learn the proper techniques to produce quality and professional grade custom products so I felt it important to gain an education in this specialised field. I earned a diploma in curtain making and soft furnishings, learning to make curtains, blinds and upholstery to a very high standard. I am very proud to carry on the traditional British methods of curtain making!

I am always working on enhancing my skills and education in this field to keep up on new techniques, resources and safety standards as well as working with reputable suppliers and fabric houses. I am also a member of the trade association the WCAA. (Window Coverings Association of America)
